ArtHouse Jersey Residency



Really chuffed to be invited on another writer's residency in January/February 2020, this time with the brilliant ArtHouse Jersey. I'll be spending two weeks with them, researching the work of artist Claude Cahun, who mounted a surrealist, underground artistic resistance to the Nazi occupation of the island during the second world war, as I begin work towards a second book, Acts of Resistance, which explores how artists have used their art to resist siege and occupation.


That's a picture of the beach where I'll be staying, but it will probably look a bit different in January...
